Wall Fan

Highly Efficient Wall Fan Ever

This research has been done on the development of highly efficient ceiling fan for both INDUCTION and BLDC motor. A set of 2 blade for induction motor ceiling fan with input powers 32, and 35 Watt with air delivery 70 and 82 m3/minutes respectively.

And a set of 2 blade for ceiling fan with BLDC Motor with input powers between 20 and 24 Watt with air delivery 69 and 81 m3/minutes has been designed, simulated and tested at NABL labs.

Research Contribution

A set of all 4 blades were initially designed and numerically simulated and then manufactured and tested. The air delivery, torque and power results obtained from numerical simulation are highly agreed with the experimental data with error lower than 3%.

The analysis of air flows over the ceiling fan blade has been performed computationally and all the data has been verified through the experimental results. Based on the previous study by the other researchers also has been computationally testes and verified. Here, in this research we have redesign the ceiling fan blade profile for extracting maximum energy from the still air and converting it into kinetic energy for the thermal comforts of a living rooms. The dynamic behaviour analysis of air flows over the ceiling fan blade has been performed computationally.

Work Performed

1. The Numerical and computational analysis of unsteady behaviours, instabilities and aerodynamic performance of fanhas been performed through a different approach.

2. Geometrical modelling has been done for redesigning and modelling of fan and its parts.

3. Establishments of accurate MRF and mesh adaptation for accurate prediction of the results.

4. The Unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations (URANS) numerical simulations was performed for accurate prediction.

5. Solving all the unsteady aerodynamic performance and its instabilities using URANS model with multi-reference-frame (MRF) motion.
